SPECTEC presents Variable Reluctance Sensors (VRS). They provide frequency range of over 100 kHz. They are resistant to shock and vibration and provide dependable performance in oily, wet, and severe atmospheres.
They are available as standard and extended, high temperature & cryogenic sensors with temperature ranges between -450 and 850° F (-270 and 454° C). They are easy-to-install and provide a long service life, free of maintenance. The sensors are provided in all common standard and metric sizes. Shell is made of 303 stainless steel, with other material choices also available.
For magnet type sensors, the air gap between the VR speed sensor and the target is recommended at 0.001" to 0.003". However, up to .25" is possible based on sensitivity and speed and mass of target. For inductive types, air gap should be maximum 1” based on magnetic field strength.
