Nowadays, the majority of existing automation systems is connected to SCADAs via proprietary communication protocols. Among a variety of data communication equipment (DCE) also proprietary equipment is applied.

With the SPRECON®-E-G92/-G94/-G96 gateways, these proprietary communi-cation protocols can be converted into the IEC 60870-5-101/-104 and DNP V3.00 standards. Hence, up-to-date DCE (Intranet, etc.) can be guaranteed and communication is standardised. Existing systems, new systems and also stand-alone control and automation devices of different manufacturers can be easily integrated into a modern and homogenous automation system according to IEC 60870-5-101/-104 or DNP V3.00.
