In most packing departments, the products that have to be dispatched are quite heavy. Therefore it is advantageous if their packaging is lightweight in order to keep shipping costs to a minimum. Air cushions, also referred to as air pillows, demonstrate what the name implies. They are simply filled with air and offer durable protection with minimum weight.
The result ensures that the shipping costs are reduced due to the low weight of the air pillows. The stock volume is also minimised as the air cushion packaging material is filled at the packing station on demand.
The air cushions are produced from a film tube that is regularly divided into individual cushions and filled with air by our range of AIRplus machines. The perforations on the air cushions allow easy separation so that the right length of material is supplied to fill the space in the box or to fix the product in place by wrapping the air pillow around the product.
