The Sulzer Metco powder feeder TWIN 10-C (where ‘C’ stands for compact) is a self-contained powder feeder with on-board powder feed and carrier gas controls and gauges.
The powder feeder may be used with all plasma or combustion powder flame spray systems. It can also be used for purposes other than thermal spray, such as laser cladding, PTA welding or other applications where a precision feed of a powdered material is required.
The Sulzer Metco TWIN 10-C powder feeder is a dual station feed system utilizing a volumetric method of feedrate control. For typical thermal spray use, the powder is transported by a carrier gas through a powder hose to the point of application, i.e., injection into a plasma jet. The two stations can be operated and controlled independently of the thermal spray system and independently of each other. This flexibility allows powder injection of a single material or two different materials into the plasma stream according to the number of hoppers in use and the powder materials they contain.
The design and construction of the TWIN 10-C powder feeder produces a consistent, repeatable and nonpulsing flow of powder to the thermal spray gun. The unique characteristics of the TWIN 10-C insures the transport of powders over a wide range of particle sizes and at feedrates of 2 to 150 g/min. (depending on powder density), at a reproducible powder feed rate
accuracy according to the standards of DIN EN 1395
