Surface Miner machines are the technology for extracting, crushing and loading material in one continuous process. This equipment is the alternative to the conventional drilling & blasting operation in mineral and rock deposits and eliminates primary and even secondary crushing.

TenovaTAKRAF Surface Miners are capable of mining minerals with a compressive strength of up to 80 MPa. Lime stone, bauxite, lignite, coal, phosphorus and iron ore to name a few.
The selective mining of thin or sloping seams increases the efficiency of handling and further processing.

Tenova TAKRAF Surface Miners have been developed for the particular needs of the mining and aggregates industry.
The actual cutting process is tailored to the application thus maximizing efficiency. The cutting drum's location at the front allows for easy access, thus ensuring fast change of the cutting tools.

The compact cutting drum drive allows for steep slope angles and increases the effective cutting height up to 60 % of the drum diameter.

Capacities range from 120 to 4000 metric tonnes per hour run-of-mine product.
