Cyclone separator for metal treatment

Cyclone separator - Metal treatment field

This is a dust-abatement system with a cylindrical shape that collects particles dispersed in the air exploiting their force of inertia. In this device, the polluted air is input tangentially in the upper part of the unit, so that the airflow takes on a descending spiral movement. The centrifugal force forces the larger pollutant particles to spin out of the airflow and by inertia come in contact with the inside walls of the cyclone; the force of gravity then makes them slide to the bottom of the canister where they are collected in a special container. The lower part of the cyclone has a conic shape and at this point, the air flow changes direction because of the pressure difference existing between the input opening and that of the output, located at the top. The flow of air rises and is expelled through the exhaust pipe that has an axis coincident with that of the cyclone. At the exit, the air current has been purified of the larger granulometry material, but it still contains the smaller particles that are not able to escape the drawing force of the air. This remaining air will have to be cleaned in subsequent stage with a special fabric filter. The Cyclone can be fitted with a vibration screen device to sort and recover the separated dusts.
