IDM240 / IDM640 / IDM680 are fully digital high-precision servo drives with embedded intelligence and a built-in 240W (IDM240) or 640W (IDM640 and IDM680) power amplifier. Used to control brushless DC, brushless AC (vector control), DC brush, or 2/3-phase stepping motors, these high-performance intelligent servo drives combine motion controller, power amplifier and PLC functionality in a single, compact unit.
The on-board CAN-bus interface allows these drives to be used as the intelligent axis in a distributed-intelligence, multiple-axis network (up to 256 axes).
The motion programming can be done via PC or PLC using the appropriate motion library, or directly at drive level using the high-level Technosoft motion language (TML) of the built-in motion controller. Motion programming at drive level helps you to save development time with complex applications, by distributing the intelligence between the master and the drives. The effect is a reduction in the number of tasks performed by the master, which can call motion functions that are pre-stored in the drive memory, or trigger their execution via I/O signals.
