In order to grant our customers consistent and competitive advantages in performances and maximum integration we have reviewed the project of our best controller in commercial terms, Power E, with the aim to create a new platform, quicker and with more sources: Power F.
Its main board, even if it maintains the same dimensions as Power E, benefits of some important planning differences, which are mentioned below:
* A new processor RISC 32 bit with clock 264 Mhz which, thanks to its speed and superscalar architecture, is capable to guarantee a remarkable increase of dynamic performances, at least 20% more than Power E.
* The possibility to connect "on board" up to 4 incremental line driver encoder.
* Implementation of an optional safety level SIL2 / SIL3.
* The use of a LVDS interface with 36 pin connector permits to connect cheaper remote terminals
* The presence of a second USB port, accessible from rear.
On Power F we have also improved fieldbus nets management for servo drivers CANopen, EtherCAT or Mechatrolink II which aren't blocked during PLC task compilation.
This new controller is particularly indicated for applications with more than 4 axis or which require an intensive use of PLC instructions executed in deterministic time breaks because it guarantees a reduction of 35%, in respect to Power E, in time for calculations relative axis PID.
In conclusion, to be mentioned that towards the end of 2011, we will adopt on this platform a new Dual Core CPU which will guarantee an extra increase of Power F's perfomances in order to keep it constantly at the top of the technological evolution.
