Description

Steelshield® Heat Shield FabricSTEELSHIELD/1050 differs from other standard foil laminated glass cloths in a number of ways.It is made from superior stainless steel (1.44404 - 316L) rather than aluminium and has a far higher than average 50μ micron grade making it extremely durable and resilient even after repeated manipulation during fabrication. The adhesive used to laminate the foil to the glass is a special HT silicone rather than acrylic, enabling the temperature resistance to increase from 180°C to 220°C.This in turn greatly reduces the chance of the foil cracking or delaminating fromthe glass substrate.•It is flame resistant. The maximum operating temperature is based on the silicone adhesive which will begin to thermally degrade at 220°C, this may lead to the foil delaminating from the cloth, however, a variety of factors will influence thisoccurrence, in particular vibration and movement.Base fabric will withstand 550°C (unstressed), melting point >800°C.
