Description

Neoprene Coated Vermiculite E Glass ClothThe mineral based aqueous dispersion of vermiculite treatment provides a coating of platelets which at high temperatures melt to protect the glass fibres from a direct heat source, for example the cloth will hold molten metal at temperatures up to 1000°C long enough for it to cool and solidify. Base E Glass fabric rated to 550°C (unstressed). After exposure to such temperature, the cloth will have embrittled locally. An additional coating of neoprene is applied to prevent the migration of fibre and aid fabrication. The neoprene is driven off the moment molten splash hits the cloth as its temperature tolerance is 120°C. It’s the underlying cloth doing the molten splash protection. The neoprene is merely to help fabricators. It should be noted that when the molten splash hits the neoprene it will emit small amounts of toxicsmoke. It should be noted that when the molten splash hits the neoprene it will emit small amounts of toxic smoke. It is advised therefore that this product be used in areas that are well ventilated.
