The 899 model provides machining of a notch in a plastic specimen. The low energy impact system is suitable for use with notch test specimens for izod, and charpy testing of plastic materials. Before conducting the process, the components must be notched to produce a stress riser, and predict the point of fracture.
The machine is integrated with an air-cooled notching area, and a diamond-tipped cutter. It utilizes a variable cutter speed, and speed table feed rate. Also, the unit is capable of machining a maximum of 28 pieces (each with 3.2 diameter) at a time. The 899 model is manufactured in compliance with ISO 179, ISO 180, and ASTM D256 standards.
