A perfect combination of cutting tool material (HSS-E-PM), geometry and coatings (TIN, TCN, TFT) enable the machining of holes in different materials. SPRINT-taps can be used with all conventional machine tools as well as modern CNC machining centres with synchronized spindles.

Thread forming taps.
In thread forming the cold forming tap is presented to a pre-drilled hole whose diameter specifically relates to the size necessary for forming the thread. The cold forming tap upon entering the hole displaces the material which flows into the profile of the cold forming tap to produce the thread. Cold forming is therefore not a cutting process and due to this avoids the creation of swarf.

SPRINT PLUS.
The SPRINT PLUS high-performance tap is the new member of the successful SPRINT family. The special geometry of the cutting edges now makes safe thread cutting up to 3xd possible, even in higher strength materials such as 42CrMo4V.
