The Padl-R UF RFID reader is designed specifically for hand held operation. The reader is wireless, enabling workers to electronically capture information where fixed RFID readers or Barcode readers are not available or not as effective. It is lightweight (135g, 4 oz), ergonomic and has a good battery life, lasting in most cases a full 12 hour shift. With just one button it is simple to use, making it suitable for workers of all skill levels.


The Padl-R UF reader reads all Gen2 UHF tags from 862 – 955 MHz.


It is readily paired via Bluetooth with a wide variety of wireless handheld PDAs including Symbol, Psion Teklogix, Intermec, Datalogic, LXE and many more. Alternatively it can be connected via Bluetooth or USB to a laptop or desktop computer.


It's Bluetooth connectivity makes it ideal as a retrofit option for companies that already own handheld devices, effectively maximizing the life of their existing equipment. When matched with new low to middle tier PDAs or smart phones the reader often provides a cheaper mobile RFID solution than RFID embedded devices. This makes it a cost effective option for businesses wishing to test their RFID business case or start their migration from Barcodes to RFID.


The Padl-R UF reader is ideal for tracking and monitoring mobile assets, item level inventory management (in particular apparel and healthcare) and mobile field service applications.
