- Single lanyards, without shock absorber, (fig. 2 page 2), or positioning
lanyards, are not fall protection lanyards, and must not
be used as a fall arrest system. They are designed to guard
against the risk of a fall by preventing the user accessing dangerous
areas (fig. 4 on last page). They are used to create or to
lower an anchoring point.
