Visual autocollimator
TRIOPTICS
The autocollimator used in conjunction with a sample having a reflective surface, produces a displacement of a graticule image (usually a crossline) if this surface is tilted to the optical axis of the autocollimator. This displacement indicates the size of a wedge or prism angle, the tilt of a mirror or tilt or centration error of a lens surface.
Used in conjunction with a collimator and a sample placed in between, the autocollimator will show a similar displacement of the crossline. The size of this displacement can be used to determine a deviation angle through a wedge or prism, a centration error of a lens or the alignment of optical components and systems.
