Surface treated NEP Chains are RoHS compliant and environmentally friendly. Pins, bushings, and plates are treated with a triple layer special surface coating, while rollers are treated with a separate special surface coating.
These chains use no harmful hexavalent chromium in their anti-rust surface treatment, nor do they use lead, cadmium, mercury, arsenic, or any other hazardous substances. Chain strength (part hardness) is unaffected thanks to low treatment temperatures. Thus, NEP Chains have the same tensile strength and allowable load as our standard steel Roller Chain.
The individual parts of NEP Chains are surface treated - and unlike chains treated after assembly, even the inner parts of NEP Chains are treated.
