Pick-and-place errors which occur during the assembly of complex products are difficult to correct afterwards. Optoarrays i.e. light screens offer considerable safety and are at the same time a very cost-efficient solution.

Increasing demands on quality and efficiency of production processes require well structured and error-free work processes. The sequence of assembly processes for example is of high importance. In order to achieve zero-defect picking, feedback to the process control is mandatory.

Japanese quality experts were the first to discover that lack of concentration is a weak point in the process chain and how to minimize the effects of this human error. They developed the so called „Pick-to-light“ control system for small parts. Non-contact photoelectric systems provide the best possibility for pick-up feedback to the control system. Moreover, pressing a button to acknowledge an operation becomes redundant.
