In 2006, Varvel introduced a valuable and upgrading feature to the 'flexibility
evolution': the strategic road map of the company's development in years to come.
The usual key-coupling between motor and gearbox was replaced by a customized type "G" elastic coupling without any increase in the geared motor dimensions.
The advantages of elastic coupling usage are:
* inventory reduction, just one reducer stocked for each ratio regardless input shafts;
* flexibility and stock-rotation increase;
* fretting corrosion elimination;
* zero backlash in motor/reducer fit;
* reduced heat transmission via motor shaft;
* high motor vibration damping.
The elastic coupling "G" is now available on:
* Worm speed reducers series RS from size 28 to 110;
* Worm speed reducers series RT, all sizes;
* Helical speed reducers series RD, all sizes;
* Shaft mounted parallel reducers series RN, all sizes;
* Bevel/helical reducers series RO e RV, all sizes.
