Asynchronous motor VASCAT
BASIC CONCEPTS
As a result of the various types of drives (V/f, sensorless, vector control, etc.) that have gradually entered the market, it has become necessary to fully optimize the characteristics of motors to be used with variable speed. The development of asynchronous motors for inverter duty (MAC) has achieved the following:
• Utilization of asynchronous motors similar to DC drives, but with enhanced dynamics and lower maintenance.
• Possible application, as an alternative to synchronous (brushless) servomotors, in medium to high torque servo applications, at a lower cost.
• Expansion of the range of typical applications of conventional AC asynchronous motors (from speeds of 300 rpm and with high-precision stops/starts).
