Bellows sealed actuation
This range of Viton® gate valves has a straight and clear internal bore. This allows the passage through the valve of items such as transfer mechanisms. The bonnet (top) seal of the valve is fully demountable allowing the whole movement mechanism to be removed and replaced with the valve body remaining bolted to the vacuum system.
GV Series valves are produced in several variations:
Conventional Action
The valve open/close mechanism is screw operated through the whole travel range of the valve. This gives a slow action, but can be safer if you are worried about trapping things in the valve, or wish to use the valve as a throttling mechanism.
Rapid Action
The valve mechanism is only screw operated at the sealing point of its travel. The rest of the movement is a simple pull with a locking mechanism to hold it in the open position. This allows the valve to be opened and closed very quickly, ideal for systems such as fast entry airlocks.
Pneumatic Valves
These valves have a pneumatic cylinder to actuate the valve mechanism instead of the manual screw assembly. This means that the valve can be opened and closed by a switchable compressed air supply enabling remote operation of the valve. This can be useful if the valve is mounted in a position which is hazardous or difficult to reach. It also allows automatic system control when used in conjunction with a top level controller.
