Viking Pump
Jacketed pumps provide a cavity, or jacket, on the external wall of the pump through which steam or heat transfer liquid can be passed, melting the asphalt within the pump. Standard jacketed pumps include jacketed on the head and bracket.
Electrically Heated pumps use electric heat cartridges mounted to solid metal areas added to the bracket (casing on 324E/EH) and head to quickly melt the asphalt within the casing. Viking also offers a simple and effective temperature control system. The Viking system includes a thermocouple and thermowell adapter for mounting in the bracket port, and a controller which powers all heat cartridges on one pump. N-Size pumps require a separate 40 amp relay.
Viking Asphalt Pumps are offered in three versions:
Jacketed, General Purpose Pumps – Ideal for low pressure transfer of clean blended or cutback asphalts
Jacketed, Heavy Duty Pumps – Ideal for asphalt emulsions, filled asphalts, polymer modified asphalts, high pressure and refinery applications. These pumps offer hardened part options for abrasive filled asphalts and are available in steel for refinery service.
Electrically Heated, Heavy Duty Pumps – Ideal for the same asphalts as the jacketed pumps, but eliminates the need for a steam or hot oil system and piping.
High Flow, Heavy Duty Pumps – Ideal for low pressure transfer applications like the General Purpose Pumps, but capable of higher speeds, delivering more flow in a smaller size pump.
