The new Data Matrix code reader Software: VC Smart Reader
Image processing expert Vision Components introduces its newly developed Data Matrix code reading software. Combined with an intelligent industrial camera, the VC Smart Reader enables quick and reliable identification of 2D codes – depending on the camera type, it provides a maximum reading rate of 150 reads/ sec. Code detection and reading is not affected by the code’s shape and size, the orientation of the code (which can be rotated by 360°) or by the background type (dark-on-bright or bright-on-dark). Mirrored codes are reliably identified and read, just as special code types, such as nailed or dotted codes. Furthermore, reading is not influenced by a covered "L" corner or a partially destroyed "L" pattern of the Data Matrix code and all this without any need of specific parameter settings.
The VC Smart Reader software has been optimized for use with VC40xx, VC44xx, VCSBC40xx and VisiCube camera types.

The special features of the VC Smart Reader Software :

- 360 degrees rotation,
- fast algorithm detects and reads codes with up to 150 fps,
- the module size can be as small as 2x2 pixel,
- code detection and reading is not affected by the code shape and size,
- the orientation of the code or by the background type (dark-on-bright or bright-on-dark).
- Mirrored codes are reliably identified and read,
- just as special code types, such as nailed or dotted codes.
- Furthermore, reading is not influenced by a covered "L" corner or a partially destroyed "L" pattern of the Data Matrix code.
