Winmate series of industrial display products are suitable for outdoor viewing. The displays have daylight visibility. Almost all displays feature transmissive LCDs in display technologies. The LCDs provide bright indoor visibility to the strong and even screen illumination provided by backlights. However, in outside environment, standard transmissive displays are not readable. The alternative technology is reflective, which provides a reflection of ambient light and outside readability. However, reflective displays are not visible inside because they require sidelights for display illumination. Winmate uses a display which is a combination of transmissive and reflective or transflective technologies. Transflective LCD modules are equipped with transmissive as well as reflective properties. The image display method is based on ambient environment conditions. In dark environments, a backlight with transmissive properties is used by the display. In bright environments, an outside light with a reflective property is used.
