WTW’s VARiON® Plus is an ion-selective online sensor with four flexible connection electrode slots.
It consequently enables the continuous, concurrent measuring of both nitrogen parameters ammonium and nitrate. The third slot receives a compensation electrode for measuring the ions possibly falsifying the measuring result, i.e. potassium (for nitrate) or chloride (for ammonium). One of the two nitrogen parameters can therefore be dynamically compensated and an even more precise measurement can be achieved. The fourth slot is needed for the reference electrode.
The advantages featured by the new VARiON® System are obvious: The combination sensor can deliver reliable measure-ments of ammonium and nitrate at the same time. The high sta-bility of the electrodes and the reduncancy of calibration efforts make it a most economic solution for a 24/7 operation in direct process.
