This type of cap sorter is designed for high-speed operation on closures having a greater diameter than depth. Outputs up to 125,000 per hour are achieved with this cap sorter. Cap selection can either be via a re-cycle system for incorrectly oriented caps or via laser sensors and high-speed rejection and cap inversion. Due to the operating system, this type of cap sorter must be fed on a regular controlled basis, normally via an elevator.
