Description The rod polishing machine for composite insulator (polymeric insulator) is also known as insulator grinding machine. It is used in production of insulator by manufacturers. There is one procedure in the insulator production, it is called “rod polishing”. As the surface of fiber glass rod is extremely smooth,the purpose is to make the surface tough, so that the bond agent can attach to the rod better. This is an important step, as all complete composite insulator will pass boiling test and FAT test. If this “rod grinding” has not been well performed or it is performed by rod grinding machine of low quality, the failure of acceptance test will rise highly.
