Universal Protocol Converter
The RS485/CAN-Gateway is a compact size converter for OEM applications. It is designed for updating existing systems with new components and peripherals. Frequency converters, servo amplifiers, actuators, or sensors of existing systems can be replaced by new technology devices without any adaptation or modifications in existing bus protocols or PLC software
Multi Interface Channels
The RS485/CAN-Gateway offers two RS485 plus one CAN interface. This allows two kinds of bus connections and protocol conversions:
- RS485 <-> RS485
- RS485 <-> CAN
Opto-isolated Interfaces
The second RS485 interface and the CAN are opto-isolated versus the first RS485. This ensures a high reliability by maximum independency of the bus input and output interfaces.
Protocol Conversion inside
The kind of required protocol conver-sion is integrated ex factory.
It is possible to implement standard protocols (e.g. CANopen, USS, VLT) or any customized protocol.
Configuration
The bus configuration (e.g. bus ID or baudrate) is done by DIP switches according to actual system settings
