Behringer GmbH | Maschinenfabrik und Eisengießerei

Who we are

History
BEHRINGER GmbH was founded in 1919 by August Behringer as a mechanical workshop. After World War II, the company developed and produced its first hacksawing machine. In 1952, it commissioned the first in-house iron foundry to feed its ever expanding saw production. Since development of the first Behringer bandsawing machine in 1977, and after taking over circular sawing specialist EISELE in the year 2000, BEHRINGER GmbH has been one of the few complete suppliers in the sawing technology market.
Today BEHRINGER is an owner-managed medium-sized family firm under its third generation of family management. Our corporate ethos is based on traditional values, solid technological competence and a high vertical depth of production. We are a company oriented towards the long-term, and we promote a culture of cooperative partnership with our customers and suppliers.

What drives us forward as a competence and technology leader in the field of bandsaws and circular saws is our passion for the sawing process. We are one of a very small number of complete suppliers in the sawing technology market. Its product range spans from bandsawing and circular sawing machines through hacksaws to plants for steel construction. At the same time, we provide our customers with specialist expertise in the field of material handling.

The second pillar of Behringer GmbH is its own in-house foundry. We supply some of the components for our own machine production, but our foundry is at work producing parts for our customers from the German mechanical engineering industry. From raw castings in grey or spheroidal graphite cast iron through to ready-to-mount components, we supply everything from a single source.

The BEHRINGER Group is counted among one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-performance bandsaw and circular sawing technology. Working in cooperation with subsidiary Behringer Eisele in Weilheim/Teck and our French sister company Vernet Behringer based in Dijon, the Group is among the few complete suppliers operating in the marketplace. Behringer’s customers range across the whole of the metalworking and steel construction industry as well as the mechanical and plant engineering sector. Behringer sawing machines are also used by steel manufacturers and dealers, in smelting works and forging plants. Users whose manufacture requires the cutting of NF metals such as copper and aluminium also form part of our customer base.

International presence
Behringer GmbH is active both in national and international arena. It has been a regular exhibitor and participant at international conferences, trade fairs and events for many decades. Employing a workforce of some 400 around the world, the company exports to over 70 countries. Subsidiaries in Weilheim / Teck, the USA and France, and representations around the world ensure optimum customer support. Despite its international orientation, the company remains firmly tied to its current location.

Our values

Traditional values – modern production techniques

Using the slogan "The sawing experience", saw specialists Behringer and Behringer Eisele put an unprecedentedly diverse range of their products on display every two years at the company grounds in Kirchardt. From large-scale bandsaws to machining centres for steel construction by subsidiary Vernet-Behringer, and from high-performance circular saws to bandsaws of various kinds, the company has put on view a range of machines comparable to or even wider than that shown at international trade fairs. Application-related presentations on machining processes and on individual machines that are on exhibition round out the programme. Managing Director, Christian Behringer, says: "Our in-house exhibition is a forum for all the newest aspects of sawing technology. Here, unlike at external trade fairs, we are able to simulate machining situations and cater to the interests of our guests more closely".

Teamwork throughout, from the molten iron to the first sawing test

These special theme days will also give visitors an insight into the working methods of the traditional company. Structures that have developed over the years, traditional values and modern production techniques are not a contradiction in the history of the company, which reaches back nearly 100 years. This shows, among other things, in the way the well proven Behringer bandsaws are constructed. For example, the company's own foundry has supplied the cast saw frames for years. Due to the material and structure, these ensure reliable and low-vibration cutting. The sturdy cast structure even prevents very strong distortion that can occur when steel blocks weighing several tonnes are cut. The frame ensures that the saw belt runs extremely smoothly and guarantees an accurate, clean cut. From the first line drawn by the design team, and casting of the molten iron through to the first cut on the new machine, there is an unbroken production chain at Behringer which is accompanied continuously by the employees in each field.

Largest range in the world

Behringer products are built with a flexible, customer-friendly modular design. A team with expertise in all fields puts together the optimum solution for each situation using well-proven and reliable components. The result is the largest range of bandsaws, circular saws and sawing and drilling systems in the world. CNC controlled hole stamping and shearing systems and flame cutting machines round out the range. And what is more, Behringer also supplies all the necessary peripherals for transportation, stacking, buffering and sorting.

Ensuring each saw is exactly right for the job

Behringer matches its machines to the sawing tasks required by customers right down to the very last detail. Intensive talks are part of the pre-sale service. Behringer saws that have been put together specially for certain customer requirements have their practical advantages. For example, increases in productivity of up to 50 percent or more are not unusual.
