Pharma Test is a household name in the field of pharmaceutical product testing. The company was founded in 1979 by Franz J. Fähler to fill the gap in the equipment ranges offered by other companies at that time. Since then, Pharma Test has risen to the challenge of responding continually to the requirements of the international pharmaceutical production community, and now offers a comprehensive range of testing equipment which you will find on these pages.

Pharma Test equipment conforms to all of the international standards required in the US Pharmacopoeia, the DAB (German Pharmacopoeia) and the EP European Pharmacopoeia. So Pharma Test instruments can be used with absolute confidence in conformity to which ever norm you have to work with.

Pharma Test has a certified quality control management according to ISO 9001 since 1996. In 2015 Pharma Test achieved certification of environmental Management system according to ISO 14001.

In 1997, Pharma Test aquired a company called Pharmag which formerly supplied metal and mechanical parts for the instruments produced in the parent company in Hainburg. Today Pharmag is the main production site for Pharma Test instruments. Furthermore a line of Pilot Plant Equipment for R&D and small scale production is marketed unter the Pharmag brand.

In 2016 the Pharma Test Group acquired the company J&M Analytik AG a German manufacturer and developer of fiber-optic diode-array spectrometer systems for laboratory and process applications. This new partnership is a part of Pharma Test’s ongoing organic growth strategy. J&M’s expertise and technologies will help expand Pharma Test’s options for analytical test systems. The partnership with Pharma Test will also enable J&M to better deliver its innovative solutions to customers on a global scale.

J&M Analytik AG is a pioneer in the field of fiber-optic measuring systems in the area of UV/VIS and NIR spectroscopy. Since its foundation in 1987, J&M has offered innovative solutions and analytical systems for both laboratory and process analytics. The TIDAS® series of spectrometers are used with suitable accessories such as tailored measuring cells and fiber- optic probes in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industry. Typical applications are the monitoring of cleaning, drying, and mixing processes as well as the determination of concentration of ingredients like fat and protein content in milk. Innovative products are constantly developed by working closely with both customers and partners. New developments in the area of networked, miniaturized fiber-optic probes based on LED technology will further advance the integration of spectroscopic analytics in the mass market.

Wherever pharmaceutical products are manufactured, regular tests of physical properties and the active ingredient content (API) must be carried out. Pharma Test has been active for more than 40 years worldwide in the development and manufacture of bespoke testing equipment and systems, for quality testing of tablets, capsules, suppositories, ampoules, bulk goods and other solid dosage forms. The product portfolio ranges from manually operated apparatus for physical testing of drugs to fully automated analytical test systems for determining the active chemical composition of the drugs.
