ROHM is a Japanese semiconductor and electronic components manufacturer whose company mission is “Quality is our Top priority at all times”. With around 21,100 employees all over the world, ROHM is a global company listed on the Tokyo stock exchange. Lapis Semiconductor (former OKI Semiconductor), SiCrystal AG, Kionix are companies of the ROHM Group.
The group produces a wide range of products such as Integrated circuits, Discrete Semiconductors, Optoelectronic devices, passives and sub-system modules.

Products and target markets
ROHM provides a large portfolio of high-quality products to help customers achieve their goals in designing and implementing various applications.
The product palette consists of Power Management & Motor Driver ICs, LEDs and LED Driver for Lighting & Automotive, Audio & Video ICs, general-purpose ICs, Sensor ICs & optical Sensors, SiC Power devices, MCU, Transistors, Diodes, Resistors, Printheads & CIS as well as special designs. ROHM’s products are deployed in a broad range of target applications such as automotive, industrial, consumer, computer & office equipment, home appliances, white goods, medical, as well as communication systems.

Research & Development
At ROHM’s R&D technology bases worldwide more than 2,800 engineers are engaged in the development of products and production technologies, such as Next-Generation Semiconductors, Composite Devices, Nano-Bionics, New Material Devices, Display Devices, Photonics, Solid State Lighting, Advanced Compound Semiconductors, and other technologies.

Inhouse Production
The Company runs state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and China. To ensure product quality and reliability, the majority of ROHM’s manufacturing equipment for the back-end process is developed in-house and in use globally, enabling the Company to manufacture and supply high-quality products worldwide. For the assembly process, ROHM has enhanced its production system in anticipation of future market growth, enabling the company to respond quickly to growth in demand.

While developing products that improve the efficiency and performance of electronic devices, ROHM offers its customers all options and scopes of a “one-stop-shop” which means that customers are not only able to purchase components but also subsystems and complete solutions.

Customer Proximity
To reinforce its technical support and quality assurance systems for customers and enable the Company to respond quickly and precisely to all customer needs, ROHM has established its network of sales, design, and quality assurance (QA) centers throughout the world. Since 2008, OKI Semiconductor, now Lapis Semiconductor is part of the ROHM Semiconductor Group. ROHM in Europe serves the EMEA region with approx. 170 people in the headquarter and design center, located in Willich, Germany, and sales locations all over Europe. More than 100 distributors in about 30 countries complete ROHM’s customer service network.
