|
|
In numerous branches of industry heat-treatment and combustion processes play a decisive role during production and in the quality of the final product.
These applications have one thing in common:
Due to the high temperatures thermocouples are almost always used. Besides the non-precious-metalcontaining ones, mainly types E, J or L, K and N, platinum thermocouples types S, R or B are increasingly being used.
These must be protected against contaminating, corrosive and/or abrasive ambient influences.
For various applications we offer different combinations of ceramic and metallic protection resp. mounting tubes. You will find a list of the designs AM and BM, resp. AMK and BMK, resp. AK and BK, resp. AKK and BKK in our product information ''Straight Thermocouples''.

OMEGA® Exotic Thermocouple Probes are designed for use in extreme temperatures, up to 2315°C (4200°F). These probes utilize either Platinum/Rhodium (types R, S, or B) or Tungsten/Rhenium (types G, C, or D) elements, with a variety of insulations and sheath materials. Depending upon the sheath material selected, these probes may be used in inert, oxidizing, reducing or vacuum conditions. The maximum temperature is based on the lowest max. temperature of the element, insulation and sheath material. Five cold end probe terminations are available: replacement probe, subminiature or standard size ceramic connector, heavy-duty standard size, molybdenum-sheathed nylon connector, or transition joint with 72-inch lead wire.

HT 4010 High Temperature Thermocouple
High Temperature Thermocouple Assemblies Type K, N and Platinum-Platinum Rhodium Thermocouples R,S and B for temperatures up to 1600 °C or higher with primary and secondary ceramic protection tubes. Depending on the process conditions we supply protection tubes from Kanthal, Silicium-Carbide, Tantalum, Titanium, Hasteloy-alloys, Haynes, Monel etc. for temperature sensing applications like blast or carburizing furnaces, kilns, ovens, galvanising baths and fluegas, where their robust construction ensures long sensor life.
|
|
These industrial thermocouples are used in industrial processes where temperatures are very high.
Thermocouples are protected by one or two ceramic protectors. The choice of the tube material depends on the temperature to be measured and on the working conditions.
Connection to the regulating system is made through a connecting head, generally in aluminium, equiped with a ceramic terminal block or a transmitter.

Significant scientific and engineering enhancements in advanced materials, Pre-Process and In-Process production methods and in-site testing methods are driving the demand for displacement sensors that can handle extremely high temperatures up to 1832°F (1000°C). Contemporary producers of aircraft engine rotational alignment, plate glass, materials testing extensometry, continuous flow steel, now use standardized high temperature Capacitec sensor solutions for in-process applications to control the quality of their production on a real time basis. Qualification testing of disc brakes, jet engine dynamics and high speed shaft rotations also rely on Capacitec sensors. Advanced materials for automobiles, structural components, and aircraft are also tested for strength and durability with the use of Capacitec's line of extensometers and clip gauges.

We offer modification to our standard range of displacement transducers for high temperature capability, as well as versions specially designed for both high temperature and high radiation environments including non-contact, proximity types.

Capacitive sensors (KAS) react to metals and non-metals that exceed a specific capacitance on approaching the active surface. The sensing distance with respect to a specific material is greater the higher the dielectric constant. The sensors are used to detect objects, for counting functions and for all types of level monitoring applications in liquid materials (i.e. water, oil, acids, glue) and bulk materials (i.e. pouder, granulate, pellets).
