The RAS Asbestos apparatus is ideal for areas with high levels of contamination. Specifically developed to meet the needs of the asbestos removal and stripping industry, the 3M™ Scott™ RAS Asbestos airline breathing apparatus provides the highest degree of respiratory protection. This open-circuit positive-pressure airline breathing apparatus generally contains a positive-pressure demand valve, supply hose with in-line particulate filter medium-pressure warning whistle and an airline supply hose manifold. The apparatus is mounted in an adjustable PU-coated polyester webbing bandolier harness that’s easy to wipe clean.The tempest demand valve provides positive pressure inside the face mask which leads to an assigned protection factor of 2000* (whilst the unit is connected to an air supply). The face mask is also fitted with a negative-pressure filter to allow entry and egress to working areas where the user doesn’t need to be connected to an airline. When the airline supply hose is disconnected, an integral non-return valve prevents contamination of the supply hose.
