Moderate-rate, complete-mix, anaerobic digestion process.
This proven technology maximizes contact between the anaerobic biomass and degradable organics, making it a good choice for digesting difficult-to-treat waste streams with high concentrations of solids, and fat, oil, and grease (FOG). Additionally, primary sludge or waste activated sludge can be digested in the ADI® CSTR to further increase biogas production.
A solids separation stage can be used to decouple the hydraulic and solids retention times, which can result in increased biogas production and stability. The CSTR can be paired with a membrane barrier, resulting in the cutting-edge ADI® anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR) system that maximizes biogas production and generates the highest possible quality anaerobic effluent.
Digests the most difficult-to-treat wastewater and slurry streams
Consistent operation during variations in influent feedstock characteristics
Solids recycle for increased biogas production and stability
Easily upgraded to an AnMBR system
Recover energy from biogas to reduce plant’s fossil fuel usage
