Short descriptionCamec has developed a dedicated system for the proper shredding of spent toner cartridges that cannot be properly disposed of as municipal solid waste.
OverviewSince spent toner cartridges as printing consumables are considered waste that cannot be assimilated with other waste, Camec has developed special plants dedicated to these materials. The plant is designed to safely shred cartridges, separate powders and metals, and collect toner powders for subsequent reuse. The system uses ATEX-class extraction and handling for powders to ensure safe processing.
Process- Initial shredding performed by a four-shaft machine to reduce material to approximately 40 mm piece size to facilitate downstream separation.
- Separation of powders and metals in subsequent processing steps.
- Toner powders are processed and extracted using dedicated ATEX-class systems and prepared to be sent for reuse.
NotesThe plant family is specifically developed to manage spent toner cartridges which require dedicated handling and cannot be treated as regular municipal solid waste.
Caractéristiques / spécifications techniques- Dedicated four-shaft shredding machine (first processing phase).
- Output piece size after primary shredding: circa 40 mm to facilitate separation.
- Powder handling: special ATEX-class suction and processing systems for safe extraction and reuse of toner powders.
- Process stages include shredding, separation of powders and metals, powder extraction and conditioning for reuse.
