The double-bit heads have the extensive serrated areas in contact between the bit holder seats and the heads. They also provide a constant distance between the cutter and the seat clamping screw. These features make them very easy and extremely rigid.
They include 2 bit holders that are used for roughing operations such is heavy chip removal.
Cutters have the diameter setting that should be carried out with tool presetting bench.
The double-bit boring bars may contain: 2 SSCC bit holders positioned on the same plane and with the 2 cutting edges set at equal radial distance for high feed rate roughing processes; 1 SSCC bit holder and an SMCC bit holder not positioned at the same plane and with the 2 cutting edges set at different radial distances made for high cutting depth roughing operations and the fitted boring bars with a single bit holder for roughing and finishing processes including normal chip removal.
