A pair of gears fitted very precisely into the housing forms the measuring mechanism. The rotation of the measuring mechanism is detected tooth by tooth without contact by a signal pickup system and converted into digital pulses. The integrated transducer with PNP outlet generates a pulse per tooth with a valence of 0.04 cm³. The pulse frequency is proportional to the speed of the meter wheels, which are driven by the volume flow.
