With a 0-65 V (400 V) charging voltage and a power rating up to 1500 W (5000 W) the microprocessor controlled programmable »EPS/BCI 800-R« of EPS Electronic Power Supplies is applicable for Vehicle Power Simulation, as battery charger as well as DC Power Supply. Optimizing the life of the battery they have to be charged according to the battery types. The smart charging allows the adaptation to the different charging characteristic and thus to the different battery types, as LiIo, NiCa, NiMh and lead batteries. The clear menu in the graphic display provides a fast and simple guide to correct settings. The chargers can be connected always at the batteries. Also the sense input can be connected directly to the battery to compensate voltage drops along the power leads. The charging condition will be controlled permanently. By achievement of the end-of-charge voltage the current reduces to the necessary value of the trickle charging. The "power supply mode" feature gives the opportunity to run the devices in parallel standby operation. This full automatic operation guarantees a frictionless application in Automotive, industry and education facilities. The charging parameters can also be programmed by an optional interface like RS232, CAN, Ethernet or USB.
