The Model 4030 is a submersible extensometer manufactured by Epsilon. It is suitable for testing in water, saline solutions, and other liquids compatible with its material construction.
The device measures strains on samples submersed in compatible liquids through an LVDT-like sensor. It has a maximum measuring range of 5 mm (0.2") with its semi-custom design, also available in a clip-on (COD) style design.
The extensometer features a stainless steel construction, equipped with Teflon cables. It can prevent galvanic corrosion problems with test samples, if supplied with ceramic knife edges and heat shrink tubing over the quick attach kit wires.
