This metal magnetic separator employs the principie of eddy current separation. A magnetic roller made of rare earth magnets revolving at high speed which generates a powerful, high frequency alternating magnetic field. Electrical conductive metals, led by the vibrating groove are torced to rotate moving away from the material flow due to the repulsion effect between the field created by electric currents in the metal and the field generated by the magnetic roller. The electrical conductive metals fell down the step on the groove and they are led to the point of evacuation. Non-electrically conductive materials follow their direction without being influenced by the magnetic field to the point of collection. In this way we obtain two different products at the outlet of the separator: • - Non-metallic. • - Non-ferrous metals, electrical conductors Any ferrous metals are strongly attracted by the rotor and are not evacuated by the vibrating chute. This means that ferrous materials must not reach the metal separator, otherwise they would barrier and prevent the correct operation of the separator. A good magnetic separator is an essential element to have befare the metal separator. The transverse magnetic metal separator has mounted in cascade and befare to the metal separator a small revolving shell drum separator with high intensity and high gradient capable of removing even the smallest particle of ferrous metal. APPLICATIONS: The main application of this magnetic separator is in the field of electrical conductors separation of metals such as aluminium, copper etc, from an non-electrically conductive material, especially low grain sizes.
