Vermiculite is a versatile natural mineral, popular in gardening and as a non-abrasive, lightweight, and highly absorbent shipping material. When used on fiberglass tape, it offers outstanding abrasion resistance, thermal insulation, and protection against acids and alkalis. Vermiculite coated fiberglass tapes offer heat protection against temperatures up to 1,500° F. At Firwin, we have vermiculite coated fiberglass tapes that are 2’’ wide and 1/16″ thick or 4’’ wide and 1/8″ thick. If you need a different size for any of our tapes, contact us directly.
