GE's Digital Energy Division designed and created the 269 Plus, a device devised to offer precise and comprehensive security for industrial motors, as well as their peripheral automated systems. One of the 269 Plus's primary functions is to supervise the rotor, as well as stator winding temperatures, shutting the motor off whenever temperatures reach critical levels. This automatic shutdown prevents further damage or hazardous incidents.
The 269 Plus by GE is most applicable in situations wherein three-phase AC motors are involved.
