DescriptionThermocouple wire Type K, 0.711 mm diameter, high density glass insulation, red and yellow, supplied on 100 m roll. When heated, it utilises the Seebeck effect to produce a variable mV difference between the two dissimilar conductors (Nickel/Chrome and Nickel/Aluminium). This mV difference can be used by temperature control and recording equipment to accurately control and record the temperature of the workpiece being heat treated.
ApplicationsTo obtain the most accurate temperature reading the thermocouple wire should be directly attached to the workpiece being heat treated using a thermocouple attachment unit (e.g. GHT 4100).
Insulation temperature ratingInsulation temperature rating is 700°C. Short-term temperature rating 750°C where there is no risk of abrasion of the insulation during the heat treatment process.
