The Henninger Centre Grinding Machines of the ZS 250 series works in combination with a lathe or a corresponding substructure. The weight, length and diameter of the workpieces depend on the dimensions of the lathe. The ZS 250s are available in two- or three-axle versions. The workpieces are always machined horizontally. A cross slide with tip is used for runout testing. Centre grinding with the ZS 250 series brings high precision to the entire machining process. The perfected centre hole achieves roundness up to 1 µm and below. The ZS 250 series offers enormous independence in contrast to other series. This is because it can process large workpiece dimensions, such as those used in turbines or tunnel boring machines (even beyond 20m).
