The Hitachi MC20 Vision System is a state-of-the-art solution, specifically engineered to enhance the capabilities of inkjet printers in primary packaging applications. It excels in accurately reading dot matrix printing, ensuring that any code visible to the human eye is also detectable by the system, thereby significantly improving efficiency on production lines. This vision system is a game-changer for manufacturing companies, offering a substantial technological edge.
Hitachi is one of the few providers on the market to use Optical Character Verification (OCV) to recognize product codes. This technology checks the DOT matrix fonts of continuous inkjet printing devices and recognizes the relative character shape as well as dot size and shape.
Each customer specifies the threshold values for good or bad imprints for their vision system and defines the recognition accuracy. Possible misinterpretations of small positional deviations in the individual dots in the code from the consumer’s point of view can also be taken into account. With this high-precision inspection, the food or beverage manufacturer minimizes reject rates, product loss or rejections considerably.
