The LX.5 connector, design is based on proven 1.25mm ferrule technology, and is the only standardized small form factor connector, that combines high packing density, high performance and reliability. Its safety is based on its automatic metal shutter. It features dual connectors in a single SC-shaped adapter; it features both the push and pull connector. The automatic metal shutter is connected for adapter dust protection as well as safety of the laser. The single-piece design provides simple termination. The unit also comes with a short rigid length of the pigtail connector and color coding of the connector and adapter. The high-power type has an integrated locking mechanism along with the thermal resistance based on the telcordia GR-326-CORE simple duplexing od simplex connectors.
