Complex geometries – such as curved roofs, domes and arches – can only be cost-effectively realized with custom-built timber formwork. One-off timber forms are also used in bridge and tunnel construction – frequently as mobile units as well. The key element of this system is the nailplate, which is used for firmly joining timber beams together to yield customized formwork constructions – to suit all conceivable buildings.
