Description

Overview
The TA0200DSS ultrasonic double-sheet sensor provides contactless detection of single sheets, double sheets, multiple sheets and misfeeds. Operating at 200 kHz, it delivers stable detection regardless of color, material or vibration, and is suitable for transparent films, thin metal sheets, silicon wafers, PCBs, coated sheets and other flat materials within its sensing range.

Installation Notes
Recommended Mounting Distance
Mount transmitter and receiver at 40 mm ±3 mm apart for best performance. Sensing range is 20–60 mm with 45 mm optimal operating distance.

Alignment Requirements
  • Maximum incline between transmitter and receiver: ≤ 2°
  • Coaxiality tolerance: ≤ 0.5 mm


Installation by Material Type
  • Vertical mounting recommended for paper and thin films
  • Mount at 27° to the moving sheet for thin metal sheets or thicker plastic films
  • For certain paper types causing false switching, a 45° mounting angle may improve detection
  • Measuring corrugated cardboard at an angle to corrugation improves detection of fine flutes


Additional Installation Guidance
  • If transmitter is built in or sheet guidance exists between transmitter and receiver, minimum borehole diameter: 12 mm
  • Recommended borehole diameter for installation: 18 mm
  • Do not connect the cable between transmitter and receiver to external potentials
  • Distance from transmitter/receiver to passing sheets must not exceed 7 mm


Response Time and Control Input
The control input “E” selects response time:
  • Control input open or connected to M: response time 2.5 ms
  • Control input connected to L+: response time 6.5 ms


Operating Status
The sensor operates continuously. When a double sheet or misfeed is detected, the corresponding output is activated after the selected response time and resets after the switch-off delay when the condition clears.

Maintenance
Maintenance-free under normal conditions. Recommended: regular cleaning of sensing surfaces and periodic inspection of screws and plug connections to ensure long-term reliability.
