The FWA8208 network appliance featuring 8 high-speed Gigabit LANs and support for 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ processors that use the LGA1155 processor socket. Built in a 1U rackmount chassis, the FWA8208 is designed for various networking applications requiring high computing performance and big bandwidth applications. Based on the Intel® C216 chipset, the FWA8208 supports 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 and Intel® Xeon® processors. With the Intel® 82579LM and Intel® 82583 network controllers, up to eight Gigabit LAN ports are supported, as well as Intel® Active Management Technology functionality. A maximum LAN port throughput of 100% is achievable. Four DDR3 memory sockets allow up to 32GB of system memory with or without ECC support depending on the type of processor used. This powerful networking system offers high performance, reliability, and functionality. The LAN bypass function, which is required in certain applications, is configurable in the BIOS. Three smart fans installed ensure the right operation temperature for the system, as well as less fan noise. Rich I/O expansion and storage comes in the form of a CFast socket, a CF socket, an mSATA-compatible Mini PCI-E socket, four USB 3.0 ports, a console RJ-45 port, and an optional dual 2.5-inch HDD drive bay. Several PCI-E 8x riser cards and GbE module cards are also supported.
