The tensioning pressure of the newly developed chain tensioner
is transferred via the sliding pad to the chain by means of a recoilattenuated gas-filled spring device. By using the familiar gas-filled
spring device with recoil attenuation a consistent tensioning pressure is attained along the entire tension path. This key advantage
compared with the previous design of chain tensioners with a flat
spiral spring (sharply falling spring characteristic), guarantees a
an almost vibration-free chain drive.
Advantages:
• Consistent tensioning pressure along
the entire tensioning path
• Vibration and noise attenuating
• Low coefficient of friction
• Wear-resistant
• Self-lubricating
• Range of application from -30 to +80°C
