OverviewRealtime, continuous in-line inspection and sorting system for plastic pellets suitable for integration on:
- Compounding lines
- Cable extruder lines
- High-throughput resin lines — single units for monitoring/diverting or multiple units for sorting
Product DescriptionInspec.tech provides an in-line inspection solution for plastic pellets using area-scan machine vision and professional lighting. The system features a compact mechanical design for straightforward integration into existing production flows, enabling continuous quality control, throughput optimization and automated diverting/sorting. Base throughput is 1,000 kg/h (2,200 lbs/h); standard systems are available up to 9,000 kg/h (19,800 lbs/h). Units are delivered fully assembled and ready for plug-and-play operation.
Problem Examples- XLPE-insulated cable: failure at electrical testing — a single contaminated pellet can reject complex, high-value products
- Common pellet defects and contaminants (illustrated in product imagery): burnt material, specification deviations, gel, size/cut defects, cross-contamination, yellowing, color deviation
SolutionsThe system uses area-scan cameras and controlled lighting to inspect pellets on both faces, imaging each pellet multiple times. Combined with robust image-processing algorithms, this delivers high detection rates while allowing easy mechanical integration and matching of system size to line throughput and sorting requirements. Systems arrive fully assembled for immediate commissioning.
Key Features- Area-scan sensor technology — multiple images per pellet with dark and white background options
- Advanced algorithms tuned for pellet defect and contamination detection
- Plug-and-play delivery: fully assembled and ready to operate
